What is a domain hack?
A name that uses the extension as part of a word, like contai.nz (New Zealand's .nz) or gam.es (Spain's .es). Read without the dot, it spells the word.
Can I buy every name I see?
Only names on extensions we can sell are shown; some extensions are closed to the public or limited to residents. Choose "Available" above the results to hide names that are taken.
Can I hear when a taken name frees up?
Yes. Hover a taken name and choose Watch. Confirm from the email we send, and we check once a day and email you once if it can be registered. Every email has a link to stop.
Where are my favorites stored?
In this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account. Clearing your browser data removes them. "Copy link to share" makes a link that adds them to whoever opens it.
Can I check names I already have in mind?
Yes. Paste them into the search box, separated by spaces, commas or new lines (podca.st, booksto.re, resto.re), and each is checked as written.
How does buying work?
Buy now takes you to Stripe to pay, where you agree to our terms. As soon as the payment goes through we register the name for one year and email you a link to set up your account, where you can point it at a website or set up email. A registered name is final and can't be refunded; if we cannot register it, we refund you in full.
Can I move a name I already own here?
Yes. Search the name with its extension (ocean.com). If it's registered, choose "Transfer it here", enter the transfer code from your current registrar and pay; the transfer adds a year. Most finish within five days.
Are these prices real?
Yes. Prices and availability come from our registrars, per year in US dollars.
What do register, renewal and transfer mean?
Register is the first year. Renewal is each year after. Transfer is moving a name you already own from another registrar, which usually adds a year.
